Zenith tour blog 1 And so the year begins... as does my tour. I must say, it's the biggest start of a year that I have ever had, knowing that 40,000 people have tickets to s ... Readmore...
Here at Team Winston we get sent a lot of photos of Charlie, which is massively appreciated. We thought we'd share these photos with you though, as we think they rock! They were taken by Roel Hendrickx at Charlie's rain soaked concert in Deurne. You can view them at zenfolio. Enjoy!
Last year, I made an appearance for the Peace One Day event and since then, the organisation has asked to be music ambassador. That means I am going to be involved in various ways and with various inspiring projects, but to start it off, I was asked to help curate this years event, which is going to be held at the Paris, Zenith, on September 17. I was very happy to agree to do this as it gave me a chance to reach out to other great artists to contribute to this fantastic event. We now have the line up confirmed:
Patti Smith -M- Yousou N'Dor Yodelice & me... Mr Winston (with some surprise guests)
I'm going out of my way to make sure that the entire night will be worth it. I am writing some music especially for the event and am trying to organise some musical collaborations. I hope you will be able to come. It's going to be one of my last show's in France before getting ready to record my next album, so you never know, I might even have some new tunes sneaking into the performance. You can get tickets from here - I really hope to see you there.
Just a quick reminder to those in Canada that there are a couple of gigs coming up for you: July 6th at The Venue, Vancouver and also July 9th at the Mod Club in Toronto. We thoroughly enjoyed our last trip across the pond, and hope you guys can get there and make this trip even better. Tickets are still available for both shows from Ticketmaster. Hope to see you there.
So you want to see more of Charlie in Poland? Well listen up, because Charlie has been one of 10 artists whose music is going to be played between July 1st and August 25th on radio ZET and TVN amongst others.
The top 3 artists from the initial 10 will perform at Orange Warsaw Festival, and are also in with the chance to win the Wow! Music Award. So this is where you come in! The top three are decided by text message, so it would be amazing if you could text your support for Charlie when the competition begins on July 1st!
Come on Poland, lets make this happen! For more information, click here.
Another one for the UK fans, especially those based in London. Charlie is going to be performing on the Robert Elms' BBC London radio show tomorrow at around 2pm. To find out more info on the show you can click here. If you miss it, we'll try and get hold of the show so that you have the chance to listen again! Otherwise, I hope you can join us!
If you haven't seen it already, below is a video of Wax Tailor's great new song, 'I Own You'. We love it, but we're biased because it features Charlie doing what he does best. Enjoy.
Are you free on April 13th? Yes, well you should get yourself down to the screening of the 'My Life as Charlie Winston' documentary at the Cine Lumiere in London. Not only will you get to see the documentary on a big screen, but this is to be followed by a Q&A with the director Steph Dray. The site for buying tickets is https://www.institut-francais.org.uk/book - just look up 13th April and you'll find how to book tickets. It would be great to see you there.
You've probably spotted the announcement on the facebook fan page, but if not then we're please to announce that Charlie's new live DVD is to be released on the 5th April in France. It was recorded at Le Zenith in Paris, on the 2nd February this year, so if you missed the show the now is your chance to catch up on it. Alternatively, if you were there you can relive the whole experience again! You an buy it from fnac.com.
Charlie was recently invited to go on Jools Holland's BBC Radio 2 show. It broadcast last week, but some of you werent able to tune in, so we've got it here for you to listen to. It was a really great interview, and well worth a listen - especially the performance of Sam Cooke's 'A Change is Gonna Come'. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
