Further proof of this is here too, as in advance of the release of the album, Running Still, in the UK and US next week, Charlie is giving away an exclusive acoustic version of one of the album’s stand out tracks – the poignant and touching ‘Lift Me Gently’.

Charlie’s new album will soon be available in the UK! On January 28th you’ll finally be able to get hold of Running Still and as part of the build up, you can check out the new video for ‘Speak To Me’ taken from the new single ‘Hello Alone / Speak To Me’ out now.
The two days of shooting in New York was a blast.
Long days, small crew, I saw more of the Big Apple than I think I had ever seen, including movies. People were what made the experience so memorable. That started with the crew of about 8. We all met on a windy street in the meat packing district at 8.00 on Monday morning, greeted by smiles, coffee and hot ham and cheese bagels wrapped in foil. Throughout the two days of shooting I got time to talk to all of them and it felt like a mini family by the end. But it wasn’t just the crew I spoke to and that was partly thanks to the role I played in the film, as a photographer.
The director gave me an analog reel Canon camera, like the one I took with me to India to make a photo story, and he gave me a bunch of camera rolls and said ‘take pics of what you see’. That gave me a good excuse to approach people in the street and ask for their portrait. I was amazed at how obliging everyone was, especially for New York.
It’s really city for sure. One of my favourites.

Artysta pełen paradoksów i niejednoznaczności, którego muzyka – zamiast gotowych odpowiedzi, stawia pytania. “Dawanie odpowiedzi to jak dojście do końca drogi, za którą nie ma już nic. Dlatego w mojej muzyce, nie daję ludziom tego, czego się spodziewają. Daję im to, czego sam potrzebuję. Między innymi tym dla mnie jest muzyka; to podróż w nieznanym kierunku, to droga ku nieznanemu przeznaczeniu.
Dzięki niej i poprzez nią, mogę zabierać w tę podróż ludzi, dając im- niekoniecznie to, czego oczekują. Zaskakiwać ich. ” - mówi Charlie Winston
Dlaczego to robi? Jego odpowiedź jest… unikatowa: “Ponieważ chcę “wyjąć” ludzi z ich kokonów. Zmobilizować ich do bycia spontanicznymi nieprzewidywalnymi w swoich ludzkich reakcjach: by dopuścili do głosu swoją wyobraźnię.”
Dzięki wyobraźni Charlie Winston w swojej twórczości podejmuje mentalny dialog z mistrzem Leonardem Cohenem, a na swojej najnowszej płycie “Running Still” w utworze: “Wielka Konwersacja” /”Great Conversation” / “konwersuje” z mistrzem Beethovenem.
Album “Running Still” różni się zresztą od poprzedniego – “Hobo“:
Charlie Winston: “ `Running Still` jest ściśle związany z wodą. Jak rzeka – najpierw muska twoje stopy, by dotrzeć do serca i głowy… Stąd też w pierwszym wideoklipie albumu /“Hello Alone”/ tak istotny udział wody… Rzeka płynie, ale jest w niej również coś stałego ,constans… Dualizm w jedności…”
Charlie Winston jak nastolatek myślał o zostaniu aktorem. Jednak to muzyka, pochłonęła go całkowicie. Jego teksty to czysty pietyzm szczegółów: “Kocham świat szczegółów. Detal jest tym, co określa osobowość wszystkiego co nas otacza. Z natury jestem ciekawy świata; zwłaszcza w muzyce szczególną uwagę zwracam na każdy szczegół” - mówi Artysta.
Jego muzyka to przestrzeń bez granic, bez mentalnych pułapek i “pudełek”. Nie ma w niej nakazów i zakazów, słowa: “muszę”. Daje niezbywalne prawo do bycia totalnie wolnym i nielogicznym w swoich wyborach. Do bycia spontanicznym, nieprzewidywalnym.
Unikalny. To szczególne słowo jest jak jego “znak firmowy”: “We wszystkim, co pozwala mi wyrażać siebie, staram się znaleźć własną unikatowość, niepowtarzalność. Kim jestem? Systemem naczyń połączonych, w którym staram się odkrywać warstwę za warstwą, dochodząc do wniosku, że droga ta prowadzi do… plus nieskończoności. Krainy, która nie ma końca”.

Suite à des problèmes de santé, les concerts de Charlie Winston prévus le 26/03 à Bruxelles, le 27/03 à Zurich et le 28 Mars à Lyon sont malheureusement annulés.
Les dates sont reportées (même salle, même heure) le 8/04 à Bruxelles, le 22/04 à Zurich et le 23/04 à Lyon. Les billets restent valables ou sont remboursables dans les points de vente où vous les avez acheté.
Charlie est vraiment désolé mais il vous donne rendez vous en avril !
The Charlie Winston concerts originally planned for March 26th in Brussels, March 27th in Zurich and March 28th in Lyon are postponed due to illness.
The concerts will be postponed (same venue, same time) to April 8th in Brussels, April 22th in Zurich and April 23th in Lyon. Tickets purchased for the original shows will remain valid or can be refunded.
Charlie is deeply sorry about these postponements but hopes to see you all in April.
